Andrea’s new single, Blue Skies and I, is now available on Spotify, iTunes, Bandcamp, YouTube, and other major digital platforms.
This song has had quite the journey. It was commissioned for a documentary of an epic canoe trip in the Northwest Territories and corresponding music video by Keith Robertson. But the song came to mean much more to Andrea than the commemoration of this adventure, and it had never been released as a single.
In this new release, Andrea revisits the writing, lifts the key and introduces strings to punch the emotions of finding personal sanctuary. The message now extends beyond its original birthplace to resonate with anyone looking for a sanctuary in life; in the beauty and solitude we can find in the wilderness of our own minds (“without the world in the way”).
